Food , Love , Fozzy Bear (??) and Pinning Madness

So many adventures, and I am so excited to tell you about them.
I had a great week with my man.

It all started with melting of the rest of the snow, a great sunset and purple sky to die for, I even managed to make a photo of it from my house

In the morning of Valentine's day , my man gave me a beautiful card, as I said in my previous post.

"Being Married to you is like sharing every day with my best friend"
... so true friend, I feel so too :)

So, I told you guys I am taking my man for Sushi, and so was it. We went to a really great all you can eat Sushi Restaurant called SUMO in Rotterdam.
Boy was that good... I took some pictures for you guys to see

It works like this, there are 6 rounds, in every round you are allowed to have up to 10 dishes. The dishes are everything from Sushi till Udon thick noodles and Soups. They are relitavely small portions, but just enough to enjoy the oriental versatile tastes.

So we started with a list, and marked 10 dishes.
We started with Tamago and I ordered California Roll, and tried some mini egg-rolls

The Sushi was really good

My man was so happy, he loved his valentine's gift

We took some very blurry pictures together :)

Did I mention my handsome husband was so happy?

Yeah, and so was yours truly

Then came some Teriyaki beef, with sweet potatoe fries, so nice :)

Then we were quite full, but there goes round 2 :

How about some Asparagus filled Beef, accompanied with some Japanese dumplings?

And we tried 2 soups: Beef soup and Chicken Soup, and  with that came a really tasty Udon (thick) Noodle stir-fry, which was delicious

Then there was also some fried Calamari with Lemon Mayonnaise, and some curry triangles with hot chilli sauce... we were starting to get really full

And we were just in Round 2, so after we ordered some regular Maki Salmon on round 3, we understood that it's best to just stop now before it gets too heavy, so we stepped out, and here is how we looked after we left the restaurant :

Happy and extremely full. We are defiantly going to come back here

Ok. You are probably asking what is that nice scarf? well, I got that from my grandfather, as a winter gift, and I love it. Here is me wearing it after I got it

And a different angel. I love this scarf so much

So, going back to our valentine's day experience , since we were already in the city, we decided to check out some stores and enjoy what Rotterdam has to offer

Then I stepped in to craft Heaven

And we even saw the coolest hip hop chicken out there.... west side...

Then we checked out some cool lifestyle shops, and I entered baking heaven... so much inspiration

It was such a nice day.

In the evening I went to my weekly class by my friend Lisa. I forgot to tell you , but she is so nice that she saw me really enthusiastic over her doodle calender, that she got me one. How nice is that?

A doodle your day calender is a creative calender where you can doodle the rest of a picture, and there are nice questions attached, here is an example:

A naive question like , what do you want the robot to do?

Of course a cookie monster like me can only think of one thing

I love that calender, thanks Lisa :)

I am taking you a few days back to the time where I had to go to the Hague , or Den Haag in Dutch. it was still freezing and snowing , and so I took a lot of beautiful pictures from the road and the marvelous city which I can't wait to share

I met some Sesame street Cupcakes

And here are the beautiful pictures of the park in the center of Den Haag

Oh, there's us

There's us again, and I was so blinded by the sun :)

Two days before that, where I lost my briefcase :( , I as on my way to Sciphol ,and so such nice sites I had to take pictures

Holland is so beautiful I love this windmill

Back to a couple of days ago. I know that the timeline is messy, but that's how I am :)

The muppets sale in the supermarket is still ongoing, and I really wanted Fozzy bear, which I adore, since he reminds me of myself a bit.
The thing is I didn't have enough muppet points. I only had 2, and I needed 6.
As in a wonder, I saw a ribbon with 4 muppet points on the floor. I guess someone lost it, but no one claimed it, and so I was sooo happy to go to the cashier and ask for Fozzy. They didn't have him anymore :(

But, they had the display muppet , which was a bit dirty , but still fozzy, and so I got him, yay!

He was happy too as you can see in the picture. He already was telling the joke about the chicken who crossed the road :

And he has a bow tie. so cute , and a hat. just perfect.

Than he started modeling with us:

He was so happy that now he can join Kermit and Miss piggy. They were not.

Later that night I made nice dinner for my man: beefstakes with my israeli salad and smashed potatoes:

It's really easy:

Smashed Potatoes
3 potatoes with peal
1 onion
6 garlic cloves (in peal)
and some bacon

Preparation
1) Cut the potatoes into squares, put every thing in one tray.
2) Drizzle a little bit of olive oil, some sea salt and some pepper.
3) Pop in the oven for 40 minutes in 200 degrees Celsius.

Yum, and he loved it.

I collected some of the dishes I made for my man lately and I wanted to share with you

* Grilled Salmon with Green Beans and Majadra (Arabic rice with lentils)

* My Own version of Sweet potato quiche

My man made the most amazing Goulash with white rice, I have to get his recipe :)

And today in the afternoon we made some amazing (Fake) Calzone

It's so easy:

Mad Scientist's Fake Calzone

Ingredients
2 Dough Leafs (The frozen ones will also do it)
Bacon
Tomato Puree
Graded Ceese
Thyme and Provance Seasoning

Preparation
1) Stick 2 leafs of Dough together , to create one long dough leaf.
2) Smeer it with tomato puree, using a spoon.
3) Add some graded cheese, and season with the herbs, salt and pepper.
4) roll the Calzone to close the ends. ( if you want you can roll it, and than slice the roll to create mini calzone rolls)
5) Pop in the oven for 20 minutes 175 degrees Celsius.

Btw, I am addicted, to Pinterest, It's an amazing website with lots of ideas.
What is it? Pinterest is a virtual Pin board. It lets you organize and share all the beautiful things you find on the web.

You should check it out, I get a lot of inspiration of it.
Have a good weekend with lot of food and inspiration.

Be My Valentine ?

Love this for a living area wall!

What a long day.
I had to travel a whole lot alone today. It was a bit warmer than a couple of days ago (That is if you consider 2 Degrees Celsius warm).

And I was looking for something special to make my husband for Valentine's day.
I wanted to give him something special, something that represents us, and we can do together. I am going to take him out for Sushi (our favorite) and a Muppet movie.
On the way back home I thought I would make him happy, and since his biggest hobby is video games, I got him a video game magazine , which he of course Loved.

When I came home, he gave me the most beautiful card which said to my wife, and my best friend on the envelope.
The card is personal, but I think it was one of the most beautiful and special ones he ever gave me. It's like every word in it was so intense.

Thank you sweet angel of mine, for allowing me to be your friend. I love you.

Later in the evening I came up with a sort of a different valentine's day card.
Since I am very much into Scrapbooking, I have been browsing the internet for a long time now, inhaling ideas and inspiration. Who is better to share it with than my best friend, and so, I decided to create a scrap valentine's day.

And here it is, dedicated to my best friend, My husband:

My first Scrap Page.

Since I don't have a lot of Material and almost no budget, I had to be creative.

I used a ribbon to create small roses
And using a pencil I made a background
for the writing : Love is sleeping on your lover's
Shoulder every night

Do you remember my second hand Stamps
I used a blue pencil to write inside them
I love you
And I also circled the outer corners

I made tags from scrap paper and tide a knot from
Yarn on them, ontop I cut of an old dictionary the
definition of love and glued it to the tag.
With the rest of the paper I wrote with a fine liner :
Love is marrying your best friend
and our wedding date

I cut of some fonts from the paper and I also
found this love bird cute, so now he sings in hearts
I did the same tag, but this time with the
definition of the word friendship

And that was it.
My Man really loved it! He put it on display and is very careful not to smear the ink.
I love him so much.
Happy valentine's day angel, for many more to come.
your wife, the mad scientist.

Soulmates and Underwater friends

Sometimes our friends need help. Friends are wonderful, espcially if they walk on four. A pet can be your friend forever.
This post is dedicated to Mika and Mori my friends , A.K.A Mikmik and Morisson.

We will miss you forever
Everyday of our lives

In 2004 I adopted them from the shelter. They were very sad and lonely. Mori was 4.5 years old and spent all his life in that cage, and since he didn't bark anymore, I thought it would be just obligatory to take him, since he had given up , and you should never give up. He never barked or bitten anyone. Such a good friend.

Mori is a mixed Koker and coli, and he loves his ball so much. He is the greatest friend anyone could ask for. My man and him had a special bond always.
Mori was insecure until my man gave him confidence. They truly bonded in a soulful way. My man looked after him so good, and Mori followed him everywhere, like the true friend that he was. Every walk they had was memorable.

Mori is loved by everyone who sees him, the vet loved him since even when he got his shots, he never resisted.
Mori had a few surgeries in his ears but he is strong and surviving. Coming to be almost 13 years now. I am so proud of you old geyser.

Mika, or as I called her, Mikmik, was 1 year old when I adopted her. She was sharing her cell in the shelter with her brother Mori. I saw her eyes at the back of the cage when I took Mori out and she spoke to me: " Hey there, are you really not going to take me with you? wait! ", and that's exactly what I shouted to the shleter people,"Wait I am taking her too".

She came with me home. She was very sick, she had Distemper. That is a sort of a fatal disease in dogs, that has a very low survival rate. But , I didn't give up on her. I looked so hard online and found out that giving her a lot of vitamin C can help her immune system heal itself. Though everyone thought I was crazy, I didn't give up on her.
I will never forget how I held her the first whole night...she was sleeping in my arms and I whispered to her "Hey , You are not going anywhere, you are staying here with me, you have a home, don't worry, be strong, just please heal and rest".

Mika is now almost 10 years old. And she is amazingly smart. I think she is sort of a labradoodle. And she chose me as her owner. She could: Open doors herself, talk with her eyes, read your mind, let you do her hair any shape you want it, and be happy with it, come when you are sad and give you a lick on the nose, steal your toilet paper role and walk with it all over the house, grab your garbage can and spread it allover the floor, since she had true fear of abandon. But I understood her, since I have it too.

We had amazing times together, laughing our hearts out, crying together, being scared together, being brave together. Thank you friends for giving this to us.

I had to leave them behind 2 years ago when I came to Holland. I had no money to take care of them and Mori was too sick to go on an airplane later.
There is no day I regret leaving them behind. I am sorry for that, although I know it was the best thing for them, since they are safe and well taken care of. It still hurts.

And to my other half, I am sorry from the bottom of my heart for that.
You gave Mikmik and Morisson a home and so they gave you. I hope that one day we can get that home back. Thank you for that.

When I came across this picture today, taken for a project called underwater friends, by the littlefriendsphoto.com  I thought that maybe there is something I can do to help more souls:

This is a project of taking pictures of animals underwater. Funded by second chance photos, which helps save pets through photography, with the help of professional photographers. You can buy the printout of these spectacular photos and help save the life of many animals. Please check the links out or share this.

I had to put a few of my favorite pictures here, some of them are just regular shots and not underwater, but I think they are amazing too, they all have a story behing them , which you can read about in their facebook page:
http://www.facebook.com/LittleFriendsPhoto

And with this funny one of the real Sid from the ice age I invite you again, to donate and help these precious creatures, so much love they have in them.

Have a nice weekend, The mad scientist
