Be My Valentine ?

Love this for a living area wall!

What a long day.
I had to travel a whole lot alone today. It was a bit warmer than a couple of days ago (That is if you consider 2 Degrees Celsius warm).

And I was looking for something special to make my husband for Valentine's day.
I wanted to give him something special, something that represents us, and we can do together. I am going to take him out for Sushi (our favorite) and a Muppet movie.
On the way back home I thought I would make him happy, and since his biggest hobby is video games, I got him a video game magazine , which he of course Loved.

When I came home, he gave me the most beautiful card which said to my wife, and my best friend on the envelope.
The card is personal, but I think it was one of the most beautiful and special ones he ever gave me. It's like every word in it was so intense.

Thank you sweet angel of mine, for allowing me to be your friend. I love you.

Later in the evening I came up with a sort of a different valentine's day card.
Since I am very much into Scrapbooking, I have been browsing the internet for a long time now, inhaling ideas and inspiration. Who is better to share it with than my best friend, and so, I decided to create a scrap valentine's day.

And here it is, dedicated to my best friend, My husband:

My first Scrap Page.

Since I don't have a lot of Material and almost no budget, I had to be creative.

I used a ribbon to create small roses
And using a pencil I made a background
for the writing : Love is sleeping on your lover's
Shoulder every night

Do you remember my second hand Stamps
I used a blue pencil to write inside them
I love you
And I also circled the outer corners

I made tags from scrap paper and tide a knot from
Yarn on them, ontop I cut of an old dictionary the
definition of love and glued it to the tag.
With the rest of the paper I wrote with a fine liner :
Love is marrying your best friend
and our wedding date

I cut of some fonts from the paper and I also
found this love bird cute, so now he sings in hearts
I did the same tag, but this time with the
definition of the word friendship

And that was it.
My Man really loved it! He put it on display and is very careful not to smear the ink.
I love him so much.
Happy valentine's day angel, for many more to come.
your wife, the mad scientist.

A Letter From Loveland

Lately wasn't an easy period for me, but this sentence is so true, I am proud of my heart, which is the engine of my body and soul. It keeps on going, never stopping, and still has hope for the better.

Hope lies everywhere around us. Some of it lies in family,  A lot of it lies in animals which also are family in my eyes, and there is sometimes unexpected hope that comes with friendship.

I must say, this morning was a very annoying, yesterday I managed to lose my briefcase in either the train or the bus. That briefcase had my copy of my diplomas and references and all kinds of important things, I hope and believe that it will find its way back to me. My man was sweet enough to call all the lost and found offices in the area, and we are waiting for them to call us back if they find anything.

Well, I was obviously angry, since I am so tired and this doesn't add to it. I went down to the mail box and found a letter in a red envelope.
It was airmail from the U.S.

I was a bit surprised and curious in the beginning , and I noticed some very nice stamps on the letter:

The letter was addressed to me and my man. It had a big stamp from Loveland , which had a beautiful heart on it. Obviously it was a valentine's  Card. How sweet is that?

The other stamp was also special it had a cowboy figure who sends hearts from his hand to europe on the globe, actually it looks like it's sending it to the Netherlands, and it says:

"Valentine greetings from a city with heart,
Loveland Colorado, Home of fabulous art!
Loveland , Colorado 2012"

So nice, isn't it? it was a letter from my dear American Friend Rick Calhoun, who was so creative with this one.  I opened it very quickly and saw that the inside was even better ;)

You're such a Special couple it says inside, and I immediately felt special.

It says:

"There's something special about you two that goes beyond the wonderful individuals you both are...
It's the love you share and the way it extends beyond you...
So on Valentine's it only seems right to say how much it means to be part of your life. Happy Valentine's day."

And in hand writing there was a dedication from Rick:
Best wishes for a glorious forever from your American friend Rick" .

Just wow. a warm feeling was surrounding us as we looked at it together. But that wasn't everything
Inside was a hand written letter. I love that more than anything (How did you know Rick?) , I think that gives a personal touch, and it makes you feel precious, especially in this all so digital age, don't you think?

"Your story is so moving to me that I had to do something special. I haven't sent a valentine's card since I was in school! :D
The story behind the postmark - I work near Loveland, The city was found in 1877 and named for the president of a railroad A William A.H. Loveland. Too romantic, I know. The city was a large population of artists. particularly sculptures.They have given the city a unique spirit.
In 1947 the post master started the valentine Re-Mailing program. Each year there is a contest for a verse and artwork. Volunteers hand stamp each envelope, there are about 160,000 each year from all over the world. The city also has over 300 pieces of art displayed publicly big on hearts. If you watch Katie Thompson's Impossible hearts video, you'll see several photos I sent her. I've got more too.
I hope life gets better and better for you both. May all your dreams come true. Your friend. Rick"

That was just beautiful, right?
And how else than signing off with a big thank you to this dear man, who thought about us and made us happy we got each other.

Here's the video Rick was talking about, from Katie Thompson, a dear artist and friend who shares the Wolfman's pack with me as an indie artist.
The hearts rick was talking about can be found around 00:30 and 03:20 of the video.

Happy Valentine's day all, signing off, the mad scientist :)

Tula's new blog

Dear Readers ,

A little bit about myself:
I was born and raised in Israel but for the last 2 years I have been living in Europe. First I lived in Belgium, and now I am living in the Netherlands. It's not only the change of culture and of the people. Sometimes I do feel I am in a whole different world. It's like a dream. But I am awake. I am going to try and share that dream with you guys :)

I just want to thank my sweet lover Bas. Everyone talks, he actually is here for me, always. I love you angel.
We got married on 16/08/2011 , and that was my ultimate dream , to be with my lover for ever, as his wife.
Nothing in this wolrd makes me more happy than that. We had the most beautiful wedding ever. it was magical , even the sun was shining on us in that bright day, when we became husband and wife.

I was recently diagnosed with a sort of a micro tumor in my brain, and that made a big change in my life.
I think that it made me see everything differently, how fragile life is, and what is important in life (my lover, family and friends) .We must seize the day (Carpe Diem) , have fun and joy of everything. I have had too many tears , and too little laughter, and I intend of changing that. that is what this blog is for - To remind me of the fun I have in life :)

I will try to make this as funny as possible, and I will start with my Ginger bread house experience. As you know, it's Christmas time, and I also celebrate Hanukkah, so for me it's a double celebration.
Here is me and bas while we are trying to make a ginger bread house, but that was an EPIC FAIL:

I would try and post as much as possible, and please feel free to comment, I wish you all a great Chrishanukkah with lots of lights in the house...
